Call for 2021 Student Paper Prize Submissions- Deadline Extended to March 26th

The Education, Conflict, and Emergencies SIG is excited to announce its call for the Student Paper Prize again this year. Please see the guidance below and feel free to reach out to the ECE SIG with any questions (cies.ece.sig@gmail.com). We are looking forward to receiving your submissions!

 

Student paper prize
We are calling all undergraduate and graduate students to submit a paper for the 2021 ECE Student Paper Prize, due Friday March 26th, 2021. Winners will be recognized at the ECE SIG Business Meeting, through the CIES and ECE newsletters, and also receive a $250 prize (to be shared in the case of co-authors). We will use a double-blind review process for submissions.  

 

Guidelines for Submissions

  • An unpublished paper of 5000-8000 words on any topic related to education, conflict, and emergencies.

  • An abstract of 200 words should accompany the submission and appear on the first page. 

  • The following information should be submitted in the body of your email: author(s) name(s), institutional affiliation(s), email address, and the name and full contact information of the student faculty advisor.  

    • Please do not include author or contact information on the paper itself

    • Papers should be submitted as email attachments in Word (.doc or.docx) format to the ECE SIG at cies.ece.sig@gmail.com with “2021 ECE SIG Student Paper Award” in the subject line.  

    • Submissions must be received by March 26, 2021 to be considered.

 

Eligibility
Applicant must be:

  • Registered or have been registered in an undergraduate or graduate program at a recognized institution during any part of 2020 or 2021 and have proof of student status.

  • A current member of CIES in good standing.

  • A member of the Education, Conflict, and Emergencies SIG

  • In the case of co-authored papers, all authors must fulfill the eligibility requirements.
